Grow Hair, Grow

Last week I posted about wanting to change the colour of my hair. This week I've decided I'm bored of the current length of my hair and I thought I'd do a post about my desire to grow my hair instead. Yep, I guess I'm living up to my flitty nature.

I cut my hair super short when I was 18, due to the fact I was bored of growing my hair - I wish I could just bloody make up my mind! Anways, I got bored of the super short hair cut about 18 months ago and began to grow it into a bob. I've had said bob for about eight months now and I'm pretty much over it. Don't get me wrong, I still like it, but it's one hundred percent time for a change!

So after a long think, I considered hair extensions, but I've since disregarded this idea. I hate the clip in ones, they're great for added volume or to wear for a night out here and there, but I don't think I could cope with clipping them in and out on a daily basis. I then looked up the more permanent bonded hair extensions, but again I don't think I could put up with the discomfort. I'm also a student and I don't think I could afford their up keep for too long. On the weekend, however, my housemate offered me a helping hand in the form of Sea Kelp tablets.

These herbal pills are not something I had ever heard of before, but after a quick bit of research it would seem that they help with everything from hair growth to weight management and nail strength. What more could you want, right? The Sea Kelp tablets are rich in iodine, which aids in the 'production of thyroid hormones and the normal functioning of the nervous system', which means about as much to me as it does to you. We shall see what happens though, everyone who I've spoke to regarding this has said they are pretty good. And I'm a sucker for a good review.

I picked these up in the 'penny sale' in Holland and Barret, meaning I got one bottle for £5.99 and another for just 1p, which should keep me stocked up for the forseeable future. I also popped into boots and picked up some Lee Stafford Hair Growth shampoo, which has also been recommended to me by a few people. I took full advantage of the 3 for 2 offer in store, filling my basket with the shampoo, conditioner and hair mask.

As you can see, I've already started using the Lee Stafford products and I have to say it has made my hair very soft and shiny. It also smells great too, always an added bonus.

If anyone has any other advice in relation to hair growth then drop me a comment, I'd love to know your tips, tricks and experiences and I'll keep you posted on mine.

  1. Caffeine shampoo! Alpacin I think it's called, you can get it from Boots. I used the Lee Stafford hair treatment, but I couldn't keep up with remembering to do it!
