Missguided Goodies

Thought I'd let you all know what I've been treating myself to this week. I'm not usually one to shop on Missguided but, as I have quickly realised, they are just so cheap - especially when it comes to crop tops. Crop tops have fast become my go-to basic to wear with anything and everything with a high-waisted cut, so you can see why I was to drawn to these bargains.

So I got all this for just over £40 which meant I was also eligible for free next day delivery - which I most probably would have paid for anyway as I absolutely hate having to wait for goodies when ordering them on the internet. When I buy something I want it and I want it NOW.

Along with these gorge crop tops I also came a across a pair of denim style disco pants when browsing the 'leggings' section. Now, in the picture I think they look amazing and I've been after a pair of high-waisted jeans for a long, long time, however I'm slightly afraid they may turn up and look completely different. I really don't want them to be a jegging type material as I'm not the biggest fan of this item of clothing. But we shall see when they arrive in the morning!

Can I also mention how beautiful the off the shoulder number is. I have fallen in love with this style and cannot wait to see what it looks like when I try it on. I may even have to go back and order this in the berry shade (my absolute fave colour) and the black.

What have you all been treating yourselves to this week?

Lust List: Midi's

So I've literally been glued to the sofa for the whole weekend, doing absolutely zilch with my time. Partly due to illness and partly due to being hungover and therefore incapable of moving my bum. A ridiculous amount of food (in the form of carbs) and drink (in the form of tea) has passed my lips in the past twenty-four hours or so, which I am not proud of and will be paying for for the rest of the week, but hey ho.

Anyways, I have bribed myself into doing something slightly productive with my Sunday in order for me to not feel quite so much like a lazy sloth. I need to grasp atleast some self-respect back after all. So here ya go, a blog post dedicated to my clothing item of choice at the moment - the midi. Here's my current lust list:

pencil skirt

Top Left to Bottom Right:
Asos Pencil Skirt in Jewel Print - £35 available here
New Look Black Tie Dye Midi Dress - £14.99 available here
Boohoo Sequin Dogtooth Pencil Skirt - £12 available here
Asos Pencil Skirt in Monochrome - £20 available here
Boohoo Maddie Midi Tube Skirt - £8 available here

What's not to like about the midi. The pencil skirt styles are my absolute favourite, clinging to your curves in all right the places and the high-waists giving the illusion of a washboard style stomach even after a weekend of excess. Personally, I couldn't think of anything more perfect. And, at the grand height of five-foot-nothing I feel as if the shape really elongates my figure, making my legs appear far longer and overall making me look and feel taller - especially when worn with skyscraper heels.

This Asos midi skirt is just amazing. I love the length, the fit and jewel print is simply gorgeous. The design is not something I would usually go for, but teamed with a black crop top - as in the picture - it's just the right amount of in-your-face print without looking like you rolled around a child's dress up box covered in glue, with yours eyes closed.

This New Look number obviously isn't a skirt, but it still has a similar effect to the pencil skirt. I have actually recently purchased this, I plan to wear it teamed with gold accessories and a pair of black ankle boots. The tie-dye design gives the dress a slightly more casual feel, making it a great item for the day-time. Definitely a piece to throw on in the morning when running late for uni.

This Boohoo dogtooth print pencil skirt, complete with black panels, again isn't something I would normally choose - sequins have never really been my thing. However, I adore the way this skirt looks on the model, the black side panels toning the sparkle down slightly. Probably wouldn't look quite as good on me, but for £12 I may as well give it a whirl.

The second Asos pencil skirt I've chosen is a bargain at £20. Possibly the reason why it's already hanging up in my wardrobe, purchased last week. I'm lusting after monochrome at the moment and as it is going to be the trend of choice this spring/summer, I'm taking advantage and filling every available space in my wardrobe with an array of black and white numbers. I love the fact that this skirt is a little different, its stripes are all over the shop - perfect teamed with a black or white crop top, or even a blouse.

Finally, at only £8, there is no reason not to whip the debit card out and buy this skirt right now. We all need a plain midi tube skirt, so versatile and so inexpensive. Purchasing as I write this.

Let me know your thoughts on the midi, I'd love to hear from you!

WANT WANT WANT

If you've been keeping up with my blog lately you will definitely be aware of my love for shoes. Boots in particular. I have my own increasing collection which has recently burst the constraints of my wardrobe as is currently taking over every available space in my bedroom. Yet, in spite of this, I still want more. I definitely don't need anymore, but a girl can but dream. And dream I do, all day everyday.

Anyway, after a lengthy internet browsing sesh I have compiled a small but very expensive wishlist for the coming weeks. Luckily I was able to restrain myself from whipping out the debit card and actually purchasing anything, something my mother would be proud of. However, I'm not sure how much longer I'm going to be able to resist these absolute beauties.

Shoes

From Top Left to Bottom Right:

I've seen a couple of pairs of these cut out boots around and although I was rather sceptical at first, I have to say that I have fallen head over heels for these. They offer a slightly different take on the usual style of ankle boots seen on the high street at the moment and would be perfect to carry me through from winter to spring and beyond. At £85 they may be a little out of my price range, but I am almost sure I will be able to find a slightly cheaper (for cheaper read student-budget-friendly) alternative on eBay.

I love the shade of burnt orange these chunky platform heels are available in, slightly different to my usual shoe-uniform of black, black and black. Although they do appear to be rather high I feel that the chunky, almost wedge-like heel will make them much easier to walk in - and believe me I need all the help I can get when it comes to walking in heels, think Bambi on ice. Again, I believe these shoes will be great to carry me through to spring/summer and will hopefully make my legs appear slightly longer, which is always a bonus.

These platform boots are simply amazing. I have a similar pair bought from H&M last winter, however they've now seen better days and a new pair is badly needed. I love the chequered detailing on the wedge heel, contrasting nicely with the its leather finishing. At £165 I'm not sure I would risk wearing them on a night out in Southampton, far too beautiful to get ruined by the sticky dance floors of night clubs and spilled drinks at every turn.

These flat ankle boots with the cut out detailing are too cute, I need these in my wardrobe immediately. They look quite smart and I definitely think they would be able to style up any casual daytime look nicely. They remind of the ever-popular brogues, but in boot format. I would most probably wear these boots with a cute floral tea dress, pulled in at the waist with a thin leather belt. Either that or a pair of skinny jeans, rolled up to expose the ankle. Just perfect.

Finally, these burgundy boots offer a great alternative to the classic black chelsea boot. This shade is possibly my absolute favourite colour at present and I basically just want to buy everything that is available in burgundy. My collection seems to be growing by the day. Therefore, obviously I need these boots in my life.

What shoes are you dieing to get your hands on at the moment?
